Job Description

The University of Rhode Island is hiring a full-time Research Assistant II (Wildlife Field) for a position ending October 18, 2025, with potential renewal. About the position

The position involves assisting in performing field research and collection and reporting of data, as well as handling technical field instruments required for completing field research work.

• Assist in performing field research and collection and reporting of data.

• Handle technical field instruments (e.g., scopes and binocular equipment, field collection of biological samples) required for completing field research work.

• Perform other routine duties as required.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in environmental or wildlife science (e.g., Wildlife & Conservation Biology, Environmental Science & Management).

• Minimum one year of experience in environmental or wildlife science field surveys and data collection.

• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

• Demonstrated ability to identify coastal waterbird species.
