Job Description

The Research Assistant - Clean Energy Specialist position at beBee Careers in Calgary, AB involves supporting research teams focused on building energy systems, renewable energy, and community engagement. Responsibilities include data analysis, project coordination, grant writing, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and relevant educational qualifications. Experience with Indigenous communities is a plus.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of professionals in the field of research and development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Green Building Technology Access Centre, CERCUTS, and CIRUS applied research teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support performance monitoring activities and data analysis related to building energy systems design, building integrated renewable energy, smart building management, net zero energy, and building science and materials.
• Participate in project meetings between community and technical stakeholders, support reporting on funded activities to granting agencies, and support community stakeholders with follow up on project activities including planning and participating in community engagement activities.
• Support and write content as necessary for Federal and Provincial grant fund applications.
• Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle, with a focus on clean energy and energy efficiency.
Requirements:
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Past experience with team support, project coordination, engagement with Indigenous communities is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Diploma, certificate and/or degree from a recognized university or technical institute in a relevant field.
• Experience in all research areas is not required, but valuable traits include a keen eye for detail, proficiency in problem solving, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and fluency with Microsoft Office.
