Research Assistant - Biology

PI Industries is hiring a Research Assistant in Biology to support research scientists with experiments in a greenhouse and laboratory. Responsibilities include preparing planting materials, managing lab culture, ensuring cleanliness, maintaining records, and assisting with compound applications. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in biology or related fields and 0-2 years of experience. The position is based in Himachal Pradesh, India, and is a full-time role.
Position Purpose

The Position is to support research scientists in conducting biology experiments/ trials by preparing the planting material in greenhouse & pre trail preparations in Laboratory & Greenhouse. Technicians may also assist research scientists in making the applications & other lab activities.

Strategic Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

Keeping attendance record of lab/greenhouse workers, assign work and provide updates regularly Planning of day to day work as per requirement Regular management of laboratory culture /nursery with critical observations, findings and updates to supervisor Keep all nursery area disease & insect free and ensure all seedling are delivered for compound testing free from insect infestation & disease infection Keep all laboratory area contamination free Support in keeping record of stores; all seed material with delivery date/ sowing date, transplanting date & delivery for compound testing Provide advance plan for purchase of materials required in stores Follow best practices for maintenance of best condition in green house/laboratory Timely collection of hazardous waste, packing inside chamber & autoclaving Maintain all record for hazardous waste management Ensure quality standards and health safety of all greenhouse nursery Deliver Media, reagents etc. in time to Research Scientists Support research scientists in application of compounds and conducting experiments Act as a committed ambassador of PI Brand Remain at the cutting edge of knowledge required for the new a.i. discovery activity in crop protection through constant updating of personal knowledge and own skill-sets

Education Qualification

Bachelor degree in biology preferably in Zoology / microbiology / agriculture / Botany

Work Experience

0 -2 years’ experience in greenhouse nursery/ handling lab equipment
