Renewable Energy Transportation Manager

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Solar Truck Driver in Radium, KS. The role involves safely transporting equipment to solar job sites, operating heavy vehicles, and adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, vehicle maintenance, hazard recognition, and route planning. Candidates must have a valid CDL A Certification, a medical card, and knowledge of logistics. This is a full-time position with no degree required.
As a Commercial Solar Truck Driver at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and successful transportation of equipment and materials to our utility scale solar job sites. Your expertise in operating a combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more and your commitment to adhering to traffic laws and job site safety protocols will enable you to excel in this position.

Responsibilities include operating trucks into loading or unloading positions throughout jobsites safely, maneuvering vehicles on rough terrain/unpaved surfaces, cleaning, maintaining, and conducting basic equipment repairs, recognizing hazards and danger zones, securing equipment when not in use, coordinating with crew members using hand and/or audio signals, planning routes for vehicle transport, understanding hand signals for backing into tight areas, and other duties assigned by site leadership.

Successful candidates must have a valid CDL A Certification, a current medical card, maintain N and/or P Endorsements as required per jobsite functions, possess extensive knowledge of logistics and traffic control plans, demonstrate initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team, and exhibit self-motivation and teamwork skills.
