Job Description
Orion Talent is hiring a Renewable Energy Technician for field service positions in Texas, including Houston and Fort Stockton. The role involves construction and maintenance of substations and battery storage systems, troubleshooting high voltage equipment, and emergency response. Candidates need a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and 4 years of high voltage electrical experience. Compensation ranges from $36/hr to $42/hr with benefits including health insurance.
Position Details:
Title: Renewable Energy Technician
Location: Houston, TX, Coldwater, MI (Tibbits Site), Bremond, TX (Tidwell Site), Fort Stockton, TX
Shift: No, field service position.
Compensation: $36/hr - $42/hr.
Benefits: Med, Dent, Vis, 401k/w match
Position Description:
Perform basic work in construction and maintenance of all substations, transmission, collection system, and battery storage systems.
Provides troubleshooting assistance and resolution with protections and control equipment and relay schemes
Reports and coordinates emergency response and repair to all high voltage equipment and BESS systems
Establishes and maintains high voltage inventory, equipment, tooling, and vehicles
BOP operations and construction, including substation equipment, and BESS equipment
LOTO training and proficiency
Operate the facility in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
Supports emergency response during after hour call-outs
Interface and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and landowners
Able to understand, read, and high voltage electrical schematics
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
4 years’ High Voltage electrical experience and/or Military equivalent experience.
Experience using and understanding diagnostic tools
Computer operation skills, familiar with internet-based program navigation and have the ability to generate and interpret computer data
Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics with attention to detail
Ability to follow safety protocols on site
Effectively communicate with third parties, vendors, and co-workers
Good written communication skills
