Renewable Energy Technician

About the position

The Renewable Energy Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and reliable operation and maintenance of the Renewable fleet. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various types of electrical, electronic, instrumentation, controls, and electromechanical equipment within the power plant. The technician will operate, monitor, and control the status of all power plant systems, execute plant shut-downs and start-ups, and respond to alarms and equipment issues while coordinating maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
• Promote safe, effective, and reliable operation and maintenance of the Renewable fleet.

• Inspect, repair, and maintain various types of plant electrical, electronic, instrumentation, controls, and electromechanical equipment.

• Conduct low, medium, and high voltage switching and grounding activities for all plant auxiliary equipment.
,
• Locate, analyze, and correct malfunctions of electrical and electronic equipment.
,
• Perform technical work or analysis of processes and actively train others in the area of expertise.
,
• Maintain records on electrical and electronic equipment, including inspections and overhaul reports.
,
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and control systems.

Requirements
• High School education or GED equivalent.
,
• Minimum of 3 years working as an Electrician or Technician in an Energy or Oil & Gas related industry.
,
• Effective oral and verbal communication skills.
,
• Technical expertise to troubleshoot various electrical circuits, including low voltage control and power circuits, up to high-voltage substation and switchyard equipment.

• Proficient computer skills and understanding of basic AC/DC Electrical Circuits, Digital/Analog I&C Controls, and Mechanics.
