Candidates should have an Associate Degree in a related field and experience in renewable energy design or technical support.
Job Overview:
Missouri Wind and Solar is seeking a dedicated Renewable Energy Systems Design Specialist to join our team in Seymour, MO. As a leader in off-grid and hybrid renewable energy solutions, we empower customers with reliable wind and solar power systems. In this role, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to design custom energy systems, select components from our extensive product line, and work closely with customers to meet their unique energy needs and budgets. If you’re passionate about sustainable power and hands-on problem-solving, this is your chance to shine with a trusted name in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
• System Design and Sizing: Create tailored designs for off-grid, hybrid, and grid-tie systems, sizing wind turbines, solar panels, and energy storage solutions based on customer energy demands and site-specific conditions (e.g., wind speed, solar exposure).
• Component Selection: Choose optimal components from Missouri Wind and Solar’s catalog, including wind turbines, solar panels, grid-tie inverters, hybrid inverters, charge controllers (MPPT and PWM), energy storage systems (ESS), and backup generators, ensuring compatibility and peak performance.
• Technical Expertise: Provide expert recommendations on integrating microwind turbines, solar arrays, and hybrid setups, leveraging our proprietary products like the Freedom MPPT Charge Controller and Hurricane Wind Turbines.
• Customer Coordination: Engage with customers via phone, email, or in-person consultations to understand their off-grid or hybrid power goals, tailoring designs to match their budget and lifestyle (e.g., homesteads, cabins, RVs).
• Project Optimization: Deliver cost-effective solutions by balancing system performance with affordability, providing detailed proposals with pricing from our online store (windandsolar.com) and expected energy outputs.
• Documentation and Support: Prepare clear installation guides, wiring diagrams, and specs for customers and our installation team, ensuring seamless setups and compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshooting: Offer technical support for DIY customers and installers, addressing questions about component integration, system efficiency, or troubleshooting (e.g., via our YouTube channel tutorial style).
• Product Feedback: Collaborate with our team to provide insights from customer interactions, helping refine products like wind turbine blades or solar charge controllers.
Qualifications:
• Education: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field required.
• Experience: 1-3 years in renewable energy design or technical support preferred; strong candidates with relevant academic projects will be considered.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in designing off-grid and hybrid systems using wind and solar technologies.
• Familiarity with inverters (grid-tie, hybrid), MPPT/PWM charge controllers, ESS, and small wind turbine systems.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and power systems (ladder logic experience a plus).
• Experience with tools like multimeters or energy modeling software is advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills for customer interactions; ability to simplify complex technical concepts for DIY enthusiasts. Familiar with Python and Structured text programming.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally assist with product testing or site visits (valid driver’s license preferred; Seymour, MO location, ~30 miles from Springfield).
