About the position

The Renewable Energy Solar Technician position at EDF Renewables North America involves maintaining photovoltaic power and energy storage systems under the direction of a site manager or supervisor. The role encompasses full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting of power and energy systems, contributing to the company's mission of delivering renewable energy solutions.

Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on utility scale photovoltaic power plants and storage systems.

• Complete daily maintenance logs, work orders, time cards, service reports, and other required paperwork.
,
• Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
,
• Monitor DAS Systems and other components of large PV power plants and energy storage systems.
,
• Conduct site safety assessments, lead daily safety meetings, and fill out JHA & LOTO documentation.
,
• Re-Commission PV systems, including insulation testing, I-V curve testing, thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
,
• Review project plans, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure compliance with approved designs.
,
• Participate in 24hr/weekly duties as assigned.

Requirements
• 2+ years of electrical experience.
,
• Appropriate licensing to work as an electrician in the designated area.
,
• Working knowledge of solar industry best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar failures.
,
• Ability to work well with subcontracted construction personnel in resolving field issues during project phases.
,
• NABCEP certification or other component-specific solar certifications are a plus.
,
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
,
• OSHA 10 training.
,
• Knowledge of electrical code and OSHA regulations.
,
• Ability to work independently and focus on efficiency.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience using a CMMS system for maintenance tracking (SAP preferred).
,
• Good knowledge and skill for troubleshooting AC/DC high, medium, low voltage and control circuits.
,
• Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards.
