The Solar Store is hiring a Renewable Energy Project Designer in Tucson, AZ. The role involves designing and managing renewable energy projects, obtaining permits, generating estimates, and coordinating with sales and contractors. Success Description:
As the Renewable Energy Project Designer, you will be responsible for designing and managing renewable energy projects from inception to completion. This role involves obtaining necessary permits, generating estimates, coordinating with sales, and ensuring successful project execution. A fast-growing sustainable energy solutions provider, The Solar Store assesses, designs, and installs customized solutions that help customers realize their vision for renewable energy.

You have a technical design background with a proven ability to achieve continuous improvement and scale. You are a problem solver and take the initiative because you want to make an impact with those you lead and from a broader environmental impact perspective. You thrive in quickly evolving conditions and working on myriad strategic initiatives, tasks, customers, and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Design and Planning:
• Collaborate with the sales team to gather project requirements and specifications.
• Develop detailed project designs and layouts using Solargraf software.
• Generate accurate project estimates, including costs, manpower, and materials.
• Permitting and Approvals:
• Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities and utility companies.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
• Project Coordination:
• Create and manage sales orders and project documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely project execution.
• Prepare and organize label packages for project components.
• Installation and Verification:
• Oversee the installation process and ensure all components are correctly installed.
• Verify system operation and performance post-installation.
• Conduct final inspections and ensure project meets all quality standards.

None
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands:
Limited.
Expected Hours of Work:
Monday through Friday with an estimated total of 40 hours per week. Schedule may fluctuate based on business and/or customer needs.
Travel:
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in renewable energy project design and management.
• Proficiency in multiple software packages including QuickBooks, Outlook, Excel, Word, Solargraf, and Scoop software and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with solar PV systems and other renewable energy technologies.
• Knowledge of utility approval processes and standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
