Join a leading global commodities trading firm as a Renewable Energy Portfolio Manager in the Origination department. This dynamic team is responsible for sourcing and managing a long-term portfolio of third-party renewable energy contracts and environmental commodities.
As a Portfolio Manager, you will leverage your unique strengths to support and enhance the team's overall success. Depending on your expertise, you will focus on various business aspects such as market execution, risk analysis, or developing new commercial ideas, while collaborating closely with originators.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily pricing advice, forecasting insights, and support to various business departments regarding standard and special pricing conditions.
• Collaborate with the team to build and maintain the firm’s power market portfolio, initially focusing on PJM.
• Partner with originators to drive new deal origination, structuring, and pricing strategies.
• Develop a comprehensive quantitative and fundamental understanding of relevant environmental markets, while addressing the risks of managing an intermittent renewable portfolio.
• Optimize the value of the US portfolio across long-, mid-, and short-term markets through OTC and screen trading, and propose trade recommendations to enhance portfolio returns.
• Work alongside existing portfolio managers to identify cross-commodity opportunities and risks, maintaining a holistic view of the US portfolio.
• Continuously improve modeling tools and optimization strategies to shape a cutting-edge portfolio management infrastructure and procedures.
Qualifications:
• 5-10+ years of experience in portfolio management or related fields.
• Proven expertise in fundamental analysis, risk management, and market pricing.
• Hands-on trading experience with a strong knowledge of the US market.
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with a track record of pricing structured, non-standard contracts in power markets.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent collaboration skills.
Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. Apply today to contribute to our dynamic and impactful environment!
