The role involves overseeing consenting and development phases of renewable energy projects, including site selection, planning applications, and compliance monitoring. Renewable Energy Planning Specialist / Consenting Manager

About the Role:
This role is integral to our Planning and Environment Team, where you will oversee the consenting and development phases of renewable energy projects for our clients and partners. We welcome applicants at different experience levels to contribute to our exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Site selection and feasibility analysis.
• Providing pre-application advice and assisting with screening and scoping.
• Coordinating necessary survey works.
• Submitting planning applications.
• Managing consents, including handling appeals when required.
• Discharging planning conditions.
• Monitoring compliance during construction and operational phases.
Who We’re Looking For:
• Strong understanding of UK planning and environmental legislation.
• Experience in managing diverse planning teams to ensure high-quality outputs and submissions.
• Adept at handling multiple projects with changing scopes and competing priorities.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with clients, stakeholders, and communities.
• Experience in submitting and managing planning appeals is beneficial.
• Prior involvement in energy infrastructure project development is a plus but not a requirement.

Work Environment:
This position can be performed remotely or in our Edinburgh (Stockbridge) office, which is dog-friendly and offers free parking. Join our multidisciplinary team, where creativity and passion for renewable energy drive our innovative work culture.
