Renewable Energy Associate

Green Mountain Power is seeking a Renewable Energy Associate in Colchester, VT. The role involves assisting in the safe operation, repair, and maintenance of power generation facilities, with a focus on developing technical skills to advance to a Power Production Worker Class 1. Candidates should have a relevant degree, a valid Vermont driver's license, and good communication skills. This is a full-time position.
About the Role:

We're looking for a skilled and ambitious individual to join our team as a Power Production Worker Apprentice. In this role, you will assist in the safe operation, repair, and maintenance of our power generation facilities.

You will work closely with experienced technicians and engineers to develop your technical skills and knowledge, with the goal of advancing to a Power Production Worker Class 1 within four years.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine inspections of power generation facilities and associated infrastructure
• Participate in team efforts to safely operate, repair, and maintain power generation facilities
• Assist in the installation and removal of flashboards under direct qualified supervision
• Maintain plant buildings, grounds, and roadways as directed

What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
• Valid Vermont driver's license with a driving record suitable for insurability
• Basic knowledge of power production plant mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance principles
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• General computer skills including email and spreadsheets
