Rivian is seeking a Remanufacturing Engineer for Automation and Controls in Shepherdsville, KY. Role Summary Remanufacturing Engineer, Automation and Controls role bridges process and test engineering procedures with the operations teams. The Remanufacturing engineering team in Shepherdsville Kentucky is responsible for designing and maintaining the remanufacturing capability of Rivian end-products throughout the entire service lifecycle. The Technical operations team are the experts in the tools, processes, and inter-team resources needed to consistently meet Remanufacturing goals. Our Remanufacturing team members achieve success through task ownership, strong partnerships, integrity and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to manage dynamic priorities, and have a drive to continuously learn. Responsibilities Support manufacturing operations automated controls systems. Modify and develop programs for robot movement, motion control systems, and PC-based automation software, ensuring smooth integration and performance. Collaborate with vendors and design teams throughout the concept, build, and implementation phases of equipment, ensuring smooth introduction to the manufacturing team. Design and implement Graphical User and Human-Machine Interfaces (GUIs and HMIs). Ensure compliance with and assist in the development of corporate standards of control systems. Develop and maintain system documentation. Provide support for installation and debugging of new and existing automation systems. Regularly reports progress to engineering and leadership team members and the broader organization. Qualifications Demonstrated PLC programming experience is required. Allen Bradley is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or Automation Engineering is desired from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of hands-on experience Strong knowledge of Fanuc Robots, including troubleshooting, teaching new points, and using the robot’s teach pendant for manual operation. Familiarity with Profinet, Profisafe, and IO-Link networks; knowledge of CAN and CAN FD networks is a plus.. Experience with Siemens Servomotors and Drives, including Simotion Scout, StartDrive, and Starter software. Experience with Jira, Smartsheet, and AutoCAD preferred. Proven experience in automation/controls design, with a demonstrated ability to lead engineering initiatives and implement best practices.
