Bellin Health is hiring a Release of Information Technician in Green Bay, WI. This full-time, limited-term role involves processing patient information requests while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Job Specifics
• Location: 1920 Libal Street , Green Bay, WI 54301
• Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, Day Shift- 8-4:30pm
• This position is a Limited Term (LT) position.
Job Description:
The Release of Information Technician is responsible for responding to and processing requests for patient information from authorized individuals, both internally and externally. This role requires the ability to understand and interpret patient privacy regulations and ensure that all information is released in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The Release of Information Technician will exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling patient information and providing confidential information to authorized requesters. These requesters include but are not limited to health care providers, patients, personal representatives, attorneys, payers, disability/worker’s compensation insurance, law enforcement, and court orders/subpoenas.
Qualifications:
Education : High school diploma or equivalent with post high school course work in health information management/release of information and medical terminology.
Certification/Registration/Licensure : Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
Experience : Minimum one year experience working in Health Information Management (HIM) and Release of Information with RHIT certification or three to four years experience working in the Health Information Management (HIM) and Release of Information.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing patient privacy and release of protected health information required.. Proficiency in computer/keyboarding skills, technology, and Microsoft Office Suite, possess excellent communication and customer service skills with internal and external customers, possess professional telephone etiquette, ability to work independently and within a team, ability to problem-solve, possess attention to detail and critical thinking skills, and possess ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
