The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., working to improve human health, sustainability, and resilience in the built environment through its programs and standards including LEED, the most widely used green building rating system in the world. The Pacific Regional Director on the U.S. Market Transformation & Development team is responsible for the successful execution of strategy to meet or exceed revenue goals in California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington markets. This includes the development of a regional strategy, work plan and budgets for the growth of local and regional engagements, USGBC membership, LEED registration and certification, and other USGBC/GBCI products locally. In this role, the Regional Director leads a team to enact the regional plan to meet and exceed sales targets. The Regional Director is also responsible for the day-to-day operations and professional growth of a team of direct reports.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop regional strategy, annual work plan and budget
• Direct management of USGBC Hawaii community inclusive of but not limited to volunteer engagement, event development and delivery, and market development efforts
• Drives revenue targets to ensure profitability through local community activities; responsible to deliver net positive annual budget target
• Collaborate with leaders for a regional growth plan for membership and LEED in priority markets and sectors
• Implement market engagement with focused activities in support of market development priorities and goals. This includes continuing education, events, membership engagement and market celebration.
• Grow local and regional partnerships in support of USGBC’s mission and priorities
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Commitment to USGBC mission
• 10+ years relevant experience, including direct experience with staff management and sales/market development
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly
• Desire for perpetual professional growth and mindset for continuous improvement
• Excellent written communication with the ability to write for, and present to different audiences, including senior and executive-level management
• Financial literacy, budgeting, and performance management
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize
• Demonstrated ability to responsibly manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously while delivering expected outcomes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to think systematically and plan, and excellent at meeting deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff
• Natural relationship builder with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines, including both corporate and community partners
• Proficient in the use of an office computer and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
• Working knowledge of LEED and the green building marketplace with a strong preference for candidates with current LEED credential
• Ability and willingness to travel
Employee Supervision:
• This position reports to the Managing Director, U.S. Market Transformation & Development, and supervises at least 2 direct reports in the Pacific Region.

• This position is remote and open to candidates located in California, Oregon, or Washington.
• Full Time, permanent, salaried, benefits-eligible, exempt status.
• Approximately 50% travel expectation with full participation at Greenbuild and key market engagements.
