Pratt Industries is hiring a Recycling FEL Driver in Rock Hill, SC. The driver will operate a commercial front-end load truck for waste removal, perform pre-trip inspections, manage waste disposal, and interact with customers. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, completing route sheets, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Candidates need a high school diploma, five years of FEL truck driving experience, and a valid Class B CDL. This is not a remote position.
About the position
The Driver - Commercial (FEL) is responsible for driving a commercial front-end load truck to ensure prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for commercial customers. This position requires the driver to perform a thorough pre-trip inspection of the vehicle, which includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. The driver will operate a heavy diesel truck to transport waste to and from customer locations and disposal areas, ensuring that waste bins are positioned correctly and that all enclosure gates are closed as necessary. The role involves operating hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse, manage the compactor, and dispose of collected materials at designated facilities. Additionally, the driver is expected to clean waste from the packer blade and truck body after each landfill or transfer station run, interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors, and clean up any accidental waste spills around the truck. The driver will read route sheets to determine the day's schedule and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher or supervisor. Completing required route/productivity sheets, Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs), and other necessary forms is also part of the job. Upon returning to the facility at the end of the day, the driver must perform all check-in procedures.
