Reclamation & Remediation Project Coordinator

H3M Environmental Ltd. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Reclamation & Remediation Project Coordinator to support the execution and delivery of small-scale environmental projects focused on site remediation and land reclamation. This position plays a key role in coordinating project activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting the project team with documentation, scheduling, and client communication.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in environmental sciences or related disciplines, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
• Assist in planning and executing reclamation and remediation projects in accordance with provincial and federal environmental regulations.
• Track and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables in coordination with project managers and field teams.
• Monitor project timelines and assist in ensuring fieldwork is completed according to scope and deadlines.
• Coordinate logistics for fieldwork including subcontractors, equipment, safety documentation, and site access.
Technical Support & Documentation
• Compile and review field data, photographs, and environmental site assessments.
• Assist in preparing regulatory submissions, closure reports, and project documentation for client and regulatory review.
• Maintain accurate records of field activities, sampling logs, and health and safety reports.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
• Support communication with clients, landowners, and regulatory bodies as required.
• Prepare and distribute meeting notes, progress summaries, and project updates.
• Ensure high standards of service delivery and responsiveness to client needs.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
• Support project adherence to internal HSE protocols and external regulatory requirements.
• Participate in internal safety meetings and ensure that field crews have the necessary documentation and PPE.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in environmental project coordination, ideally in reclamation or remediation.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Land Reclamation, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, closure criteria, and reclamation guidelines in Alberta.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure DevOps is an asset.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with environmental fieldwork, sampling procedures, and report preparation.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to occasionally travel to project sites.
• Knowledge of budgeting and invoicing processes is an asset.
