Key tasks include managing recipes, formulations, quality control, and documentation, while collaborating with various teams. The role requires strong data management skills and involves being in the store support office five days a week.
Job Description Job Summary: The Quality Food Manufacturing Systems, Data and Documentation Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of food manufacturing processes across multiple production units. This role manages recipes, formulations, and related data within various technology platforms, including Whole Foods Market commercialization tools such as FoodLogic and Gateway, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations across all assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food manufacturing systems, quality control, and regulatory compliance, with a proven ability to standardize and optimize systems across multiple locations, and strong data management skills. This role is located in Austin, TX with an expectation of being in the store support office 5 days per week. Responsibilities: Multi-Unit Recipe and Formulation Management: Standardize and manage recipes and formulations across multiple production units, utilizing ERP systems, PLM software, and other relevant technology tools. Ensure consistent application of recipe and formulations data across all platforms and production facilities. Oversee the formulation process at scale across multiple units, ensuring consistent product quality and yields. Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams at each facility to implement and optimize formulations. ERP/BOM Management: Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of ingredients, yields, and Bill of Materials (BOM) within the ERP system for all assigned production units. Monitor and update regional BOMs to reflect changes in formulations, ingredients, or processes across all locations. Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies related to ERP data across multiple facilities. Quality Control and Compliance: Implement and maintain standardized systems for food quality control (QC) and compliance auditing across all production units. Ensure adherence to all relevant food quality and safety regulations documentation requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA) and Whole Foods Market standards across the region. Maintain consistent documentation related to food quality, compliance, and systems processes for all units. Conduct internal documentations audits at multiple locations. Drives implementation of quality system tools like QCAnywhere, CMX1 and ensures facilities training and compliance Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and standardized documentation of all recipes, formulation versions, food quality records, and systems documentation for all production units. Ensure all documentation is organized, easily accessible, and compliant with regulatory requirements across the region. Create and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for food manufacturing systems across all units. Perform regular regional facilities data integrity checks. Systems Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing systems, tools and documentation recordkeeping across multiple production units. Work with tech departments, management, and individual facility teams to ensure smooth system integration and standardization. Travel to various production facilities within the region as needed. Whole Foods Market Commercialization Tools: Manage facilities integration and utilize Whole Foods Market commercialization tools, including FoodLogic and Gateway, to ensure accurate product information and compliance. Ensure all product data within these systems is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with internal and external requirements. Data Management: Oversee data management for all assigned production facilities, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility. Develop and implement data management strategies to support efficient manufacturing operations and reporting. Work with each facility to maintain data consistency. Familiarize and execute on the various WFM data functions Ability to travel as needed; up to 35/50% Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on recipe and formulation management across multiple units. Strong understanding of ERP systems, PLM software, and other food manufacturing technologies (Sage X3 user experience a plus) Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a focus on standardization. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams Knowledge and/or experience with tools like FoodLogic, Gateway, Genesys is a plus. Experience with QCAnywhere and/or CMX1is a plus Experience with data management within a manufacturing environment.
