About the position

Pattern Energy is seeking an experienced Public Engagement Field Organizer - Consultant to support community engagement activities and stakeholder relations for Pattern's SunZia Wind and Transmission project. This position is based in New Mexico or Arizona and involves significant travel across both states. The primary responsibility of the Public Engagement Field Organizer is to support and execute community engagement plans, foster relationships, and engage with local landowners and stakeholders. This includes effectively communicating project construction updates, organizing events, and representing Pattern at community events. The role reports to SunZia's Public Engagement Manager and collaborates closely with Pattern's External Affairs, Land, and Construction teams. Key accountabilities include building relationships with project landowners and other stakeholders, as well as community organizations. The organizer will support SunZia's Community Giving Program by identifying new organizations and causes that positively impact communities within the project's footprint. The role also involves disseminating project information to stakeholders and proactively telling SunZia's story. The organizer will hold one-on-one meetings with landowners, stakeholders, and local leaders, plan and execute Pattern-led events, meetings, and community BBQs, and attend public meetings to represent Pattern at community events such as fairs, rodeos, and conventions. Additionally, the organizer will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate public engagement-related risks and opportunities, implementing tactics to mitigate them.

Responsibilities
• Building relationships with Project landowners and other stakeholders.

• Building relationships with community organizations and supporting SunZia's Community Giving Program, identifying new organizations and causes that will positively impact communities in the project's footprint.

• Supporting and executing community engagement activities to steward relationships with landowners, community groups, and local stakeholders.

• Helping to disseminate project information to stakeholders and proactively telling SunZia's story.

• Holding one-on-one meetings with landowners, stakeholders, and local leaders.

Requirements
• Minimum of five years of experience in community relations, project management, community organizing, campaigns, or other related areas.

• Preference for experience in political and/or issue-based campaigns.

• Experience and interest in renewable energy/environmental issues.
,
• Strong relationship management skills and experience in stewarding stakeholders.
,
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders involved in complex projects.
,
• Ability to effectively communicate project updates and proactively tell SunZia's story.

• Valid transportation and willingness to travel across New Mexico and Arizona to meet landowners and stakeholders in-person and attend community events.
