Job Description
Nanyang Technological University Singapore is hiring a Project Officer for the Climate Transformation Program, focusing on climate and finance markets. The role involves conducting research on climate risk management, utilizing AI technologies, and analyzing data. Key responsibilities include literature reviews, data analysis, preparing reports, and presenting findings. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree and strong research skills. The position is based at Nanyang Business School in Singapore.
The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.
CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.
As part of this programme, Cluster 5 - Climate and finance markets, will measure and price climate risk in financial markets, design innovative risk financing solutions to climate change risks, and quantify economic impact of climate policies.
The Project Officer will be based at Nanyang Business School (NBS) and will play a critical role in advancing the research agenda of the climate change risk management project under Cluster 5 - Climate and Finance Markets. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in areas such as the application of AI technologies to ESG challenges, cybersecurity and financial innovations for ESG risk management, and the mental health impacts of climate risks alongside potential innovative interventions. The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting and conducting high-quality, impactful research; preparing and delivering presentations to academic and industry stakeholders; and contributing to the publication of research findings in leading academic journals.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize key findings across ESG, AI, cybersecurity, and climate risk domains
• Collect, clean, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from academic, industry, or public sources
• Support the development and implementation of research methodologies and analytical frameworks
• Prepare research reports, white papers, and policy briefs tailored to both academic and practitioner audiences
• Assist in drafting and revising manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
• Present research findings at academic conferences, industry workshops, and stakeholder meetings
• Liaise with industrial partners and collaborators as needed for data collection and project coordination
• Managing research projects effectively, including meeting deadlines, managing resources, and ensuring that research outputs meet the highest academic and professional standards
Job Requirements
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, art and science public policy, sustainability)
• Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods
• Experience in AI, EST, financial industry, cybersecurity, consultancy, product research, etc. is preferred
• Demonstrate interdisciplinary working experience in finance and risk management, with a strong ability to integrate knowledge across domains
• Exhibit strong attention to detail, with the ability to develop and implement quantitative models for climate risk analysis and financial impact assessment
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Display strong collaborative skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams
