Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Brandon, Manitoba. This individual will be responsible for managing capital projects, providing engineering support to the operations group, and assisting senior management in developing and justifying capital expenditure requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in handling multiple medium to large-sized projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage project plans, operations, budgets, and schedules (annual and multi-year)
• Provide engineering support for the operations group
• Assist senior management in developing and justifying capital expenditure requests
• Investigate practical, cost-effective, and innovative plant improvement solutions
• Utilize and incorporate Six Sigma and other project management tools, methodology, and principles
• Negotiate contracts and supervise equipment vendors, service providers, and contractors
• Actively participate in company initiatives, such as Innovation, Share groups, MyMLF, Energy Efficiency

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 5 years' experience as an engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Technologist, or 10 plus years of equivalent project experience
• A proven track record of handling multiple medium to large-sized projects
• Strong organizational, analytical, and planning abilities combined with practical business sense
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Project Management software)
• Working knowledge of industry codes and regulations, such as OH&S, WHMIS, HACCP
• Knowledge and experience with the Food industry would be an asset
• Fluency in the English language
