Solar Project Manager Job Description

The Solar Project Manager is responsible for establishing the schedule and budget of solar construction projects and ensures that milestones and deliverables are met through the life of the project. The Manager can oversee and handle multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction.

Essential Duties of the Project Manager

●Establish and communicate project scheduling and responsibilities to project team.

●Coordination of permitting for projects.

●Coordinate with development and engineering to develop preliminary design budget.

●Prepare bid packages and procure materials and services as needed.

●Create project budget based upon quotes and bids, track project costs.

●Create and manage Microsoft Project Schedule ahead of contract deadlines, and coordinate and deliver on time or ahead of schedule all procurement, subcontractors and the field team.

●Perform regular check-ins with job superintendents to gauge project progress and assess.

●Serve as point-of-contact for customers/clients during each project.

●Day to day management of installation projects, installers and subcontractors.

●Provide client weekly progress reports and schedules, monthly reports with cash flow,and any miscellaneous requests in a timely manner as required.

●Managing workflows for all jobs, resolving logistical issues as needed

●Maintaining records and databases

●Coordination with customers throughout job installation

●Troubleshooting issues relating to installations

● Daily installer personnel and vehicle adjustments

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field preferred

● 2+ years' solar project management experience including projects of at least 100 kW+ or 5+ year's experience in project management and/or construction operations

● Experience and understanding of Distributed Generation Solar projects

● Ability to problem solve both personnel issues and project issues

● Good record keeping and organizational skills

● Ability to travel regionally, depending on project location

● Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, MS Projects, Procore and ACAD software.

● OSHA 10 certification required

● OSHA 30 certified – preferred

● NABCEP professional certification preferred

● Solid understanding of Project Management Process - PMP preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
