About the position
The Construction Project Manager is a key role within the Sustainability Infrastructure Building - Solutions & Technologies business at Johnson Controls. This position is responsible for overseeing the construction management of assigned building retrofit projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. The Construction Project Manager will determine the necessary resource levels to meet schedule milestones and will monitor workforce levels to ensure adherence to the construction plan. A critical aspect of this role is controlling project costs and managing change orders, ensuring that any scope changes are documented and approved before work commences. In addition to project management responsibilities, the Construction Project Manager will implement site safety and security procedures, actively contributing to the development of the safety program. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and subcontractors is essential, as is ensuring high customer satisfaction throughout the project execution phase. The role requires collaboration with the Project Delivery Manager and regional team management, as well as active involvement in the local contracting community and industry organizations. The Construction Project Manager will self-perform cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management, ensuring that projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget. This includes understanding project scope and customer expectations, utilizing resource planning techniques for productivity, and providing monthly financial status reports. The role also involves establishing customer touchpoints to gather feedback on satisfaction and demonstrating leadership by exceeding customer expectations. Compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards is paramount, as is championing the JCI Safety Program for all involved parties. Ultimately, the Construction Project Manager is accountable for the executed margin of all assigned projects, focusing on profitability, cash flow, and timely completion.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum of five years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.

• Management experience with HVAC, Controls/BAS, Lighting, and Renewable Energy systems is desired.

• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical material to a non-technical audience.

• Ability to travel as required by project assignments.
,
• Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.

• Strong working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe/Nitro, Teams, and basic Windows environment.
