Handex is on the move, and we're looking for a high-performing Project Manager to play a pivotal role overseeing Active Remediation Systems focused on water discharge and air emissions across a variety of client and Superfund sites throughout South New Jersey.

This hybrid position offers a mix of field work, client and team collaboration, with a primary office location in Jackson, NJ.

Responsibilities & Objectives:
• Project Lead: As the primary contact for assigned sites, provide strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle to ensure milestones, deliverables, and deadlines are consistently met. Oversee all phases of wastewater and air emission remediation, including field sampling, waste disposal, permitting, quality control, construction oversight, and health & safety compliance.
• Technical Documentation: Draft, review, and finalize technical reports to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely submission.
• Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Stay current on NJDEP regulations, SOPs, and permitting guidelines, acting as a subject matter expert to ensure full compliance across all project activities.
• Health & Safety Collaboration: Partner with Health and Safety to support compliance with safety protocols and promote a culture of safety across all field operations.
• Financial Management: Oversee and track project budgets and financial performance, coordinating with accounting to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing.
• Team Development: Actively coach and mentor team members, provide constructive performance feedback, and support the professional growth and development of project and engagement teams.

Requirements & Skills for Success:
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on project management experience, successfully overseeing active remediation systems, with a focus on water discharge and air emissions.
• Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. New Jersey Industrial Wastewater License is a plus; willingness to obtain a water treatment license is highly desirable.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to high-quality standards.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal, New Jersey state, county, and local environmental regulations, including SOPs and permitting guidelines.
• Technical Writing: Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to draft and edit permits, technical reports, and regulatory submittals.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Timberline and AutoCAD a plus.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality standards, are essential.
• Regional Flexibility: Willingness to travel to assigned client sites throughout South Jersey.
• Licensing & Background: Valid driver’s license in good standing; must be able to pass criminal background checks, physical exam, and drug/alcohol/DMV screenings.
