Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Project Geologist / Environmental Scientist who is looking for new learning experiences, opportunities for career growth, and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success. This position will be located in our Peoria, IL, location.
Primary Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical resource for permitting and compliance projects.
• Lead the preparation of factual reports, summary technical documents, and permitting and renewal documents.
• Work with Project Managers to estimate project costs and consult on technical approach.
• Develop and implement technical approaches for numerical analysis of groundwater and surface water systems in support of permitting, industrial development and site remediation
• Oversee data management and analysis for data collected in the field.
• Interact with regulatory agencies and clients.
• Identify, evaluate, and document ways to improve and optimize remediation activities including technologies, approaches, strategies, and best practices.
• Demonstrate effective client and project team communication skills with a focus on technical issues for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Manage, schedule, and assist fieldwork activities including well installations, soil boring investigations, groundwater sampling, landfill gas monitoring, gas well field balancing, field equipment and supplies.
• Offer geologic experience in the interpretation of data collected in the field and compiled from other sources.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance
• Current or previous working relationships with federal and/or state regulators on permitting and compliance
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Professional Geologist (PG) licensure or ability to obtain
• Prior working experience with federal and state regulatory requirements and standards for waste facilities and emerging regulatory issues
• 5+ years of experience working in the environmental consulting industry
• Surface and groundwater modeling experience for impacts assessments and evaluations
• Experience with environmental assessment compilation and data evaluation
