Job Description

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is hiring a Project Environmental Scientist, Geologist, Engineer, or Hydrogeologist in West Palm Beach, FL. The role involves managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, conducting analyses, supervising field activities, and overseeing junior staff. Responsibilities include preparing proposals and reports, client interaction, and business development. Candidates should have a relevant degree, certifications, and at least 6 years of experience.
About the position

Langan is seeking a Project Environmental Scientist, Geologist, Engineer, or Hydrogeologist to join its collaborative team in Phoenix, Miami, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, or Tampa. This individual will serve a key function in managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, delivering technically excellent services, preparing technical proposals and reports, conducting environmental research and analyses, supervising field investigations, and managing staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop both project management and staff management skills, interact with clients, and work on exciting small and large-scale projects. As a Project Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, performing complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects, and supervising field activities to ensure correct interpretations of findings. You will manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Additionally, you will effectively organize, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, and other documents. Participation in the identification and pursuit of new clients, developing additional work within existing projects, and attending business development meetings with new and existing clients will also be part of your responsibilities. You will provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments, coaching, training, and motivating staff assigned to Environmental projects. Coordination with other work groups across office locations and disciplines will be necessary on an as-needed basis. Effective and professional interfacing with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others is essential. Other duties may be requested as needed.

Responsibilities
• Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects

• Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects

• Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings

• Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines

• Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents

• Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects

• Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others

• Perform other duties as requested

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering; Master's degree a plus
,
• LEED AP or PE certification
,
• 6+ years of related work experience
,
• Proficient in environmental due diligence
,
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software
,
• Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses
,
• Hazwoper training, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, and annual 8-hr. Hazwoper re-certification
,
• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements
,
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills
,
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
,
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
,
• Ability to multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff
,
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as projects require
,
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing
