BHE Renewables is seeking a Project Engineer for Geothermal Operations in Calipatria, CA. About the position

The Project Engineer for Geothermal Operations at BHE Renewables, LLC is responsible for providing technical support for daily operations and plant improvements. This role involves managing engineering projects of moderate size and complexity, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of power generation while adhering to budget constraints. The engineer will also be involved in equipment design, acquisition, and troubleshooting, making recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.

Responsibilities
• Respond to operations, maintenance and project needs, providing lead role for plant and equipment performance evaluation.

• Identify and incorporate new ideas and technologies for project development, recommending economically viable projects.

• Manage assigned capital projects, including understanding technology, performing management of change requests, and developing requests for proposals.
,
• Perform project estimates and write authorizations for expenditures to acquire project funds.
,
• Maintain close contact with operations and maintenance to evaluate plant equipment performance and recommend design improvements.
,
• Review process and equipment design for compliance with engineering principles and company standards.
,
• Schedule details of equipment installations and provide training and OEM documents to operations and maintenance.

• Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical engineering.

• Minimum five years of experience in an industrial environment such as a power plant, wastewater treatment, refinery, or chemical plant.
,
• Project management experience is helpful; exposure to business/financial and contractual matters is ideal.
,
• Experience with cross-country pipeline installations, pressure vessels, high pressure steam systems, air pollution abatement systems, turbines, and plant design/construction is a plus.

• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
,
• Ability to read and interpret written documents such as accounting reports and safety rules.
,
• Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
,
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
,
• Ability to make clear and precise decisions in critical situations and evaluate safety/environmental concerns.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with high pressure steam systems.

• Familiarity with various air pollution abatement systems.
,
• Knowledge of plant design and construction.
