Job Description
Anaergia is hiring a Project Development Associate in Carlsbad, CA, to support the development of anaerobic digestion projects. Responsibilities include site diligence, stakeholder relationship management, managing development milestones, and preparing financial models and proposals. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and preferably 2 years of experience in renewable energy or project development. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

About the Project:
Job Overview:
New opportunity within the Sales & Development team to help grow Anaergia's portfolio of anaerobic digestion facilities. Join a team that is identifying, developing, and expanding a growing number of facilities that convert organic waste into carbon-negative renewable energy.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support Project Development Manager in development of anaerobic digestion projects to private and municipal customers.
• Assist in site diligence by reviewing environmental, utility, and other key siting factors to determine site suitability.
• Work to foster trust and relationships with prospective landowners, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and coordinate the execution of development milestones such as zoning/permit applications, environmental compliance, utility interconnections, feedstock agreements.
• Prepare financial models for anaerobic digestion projects.
• Support in negotiation of land lease agreements, including easements, right's of way, and/or access roads for a project.
• Prepare and write proposals for and responses to Requests for Proposals.
• Manage workstream schedule and staff to complete proposals, budgets, contracts.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or energy/sustainability related discipline from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Preferred at least 2 years of professional experience within the renewable energy industry, project development, sales, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven business management strengths with ability to identify customer requirements and articulate solutions
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Strong verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
• Self-motivated with willingness to take direction and learn
• Flexible to work in highly adaptive and fast paced work environment.
• Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects and business relationships
• Background in design, engineering, permitting, financial analysis and project management preferred
