Job Description
Squadron Energy is seeking a Project Controls Officer for a 12-month contract to support renewable energy projects during the Development phase. The role involves project scheduling, cost management, and risk management, collaborating with project teams and stakeholders. Ideal candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in project controls and management. This position is fully remote, allowing applicants from anywhere to apply.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Controls Officer to join our close knit team in the Squadron Energy PMO as a strategic partner to project teams and management supporting renewable energy projects in the Development phase. This is for a twelve month contract to cover parental leave.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controls Officer is a supporting role responsible for coordinating and applying best practice project scheduling/planning, cost management, and risk management in partnership with our project teams on all Squadron Development Projects.
This will involve engaging and collaborating with project teams and stakeholders across the entire Squadron Development Portfolio in coordinating updates to schedule, cost, and risk status reporting for projects and supporting systems and procedural transformation for the Development project teams.
Key responsibilities:
• Assist in the management of the Development Project scheduling, cost, and risk tools, systems and reporting ensuring alignment to the Project Controls Framework.
• Work with the Development Project teams to ensure all monthly updates are provided for Project Controls input into the monthly steering meetings and portfolio reports and dashboards.
• Assist the Development Project teams and PMO in establishing and administering purchasing for assigned projects in SAP.
• Contribute to transformation of Project Controls system and tools for Development Projects and Portfolios.
• Work within the Community of Practice for the Project Controls Function, ensuring alignment of Development systems within the wider Squadron Objectives.
• Assist in continuous improvement of the Project Management Framework with respect to Development phase Scheduling, Cost, and Risk functions.
• Update and maintain risk registers, project controls, and financial tracking systems.
Experience and knowledge:
About you
• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent amount of experience.
• Experience working in a similar role within Project teams or a Project Management Office.
• Experience administering the scheduling, cost, and risk management functions on multiple projects, including interacting with Project Management Office (PMO).
• Experience managing Project schedules, budgets and forecasting.
• Experience working within integrated Project Controls Systems, Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tool.
Skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including liaison and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
