Job Description
WWF-India is hiring a Programme Officer in New Delhi to support wildlife conservation through data acquisition, satellite image processing, and GIS map production. Responsibilities include developing methodologies for data analysis, land use change detection, and project management. Candidates should have a Master's degree in Environmental Science, knowledge of Remote Sensing & GIS, and proficiency in programming languages like Python and R. This is a full-time position.

Job Profile:
• Data acquisition and satellite image processing of remote sensing imagery.
• Data Capturing, digitization, image processing of satellite Imagery.
• Image rectification and classification.
• GIS map production and geo database design tasks for different projects with special focus on spatial analysis and mapping.
• Develop methodologies and proposals for data analysis and modelling to support decision-making, particularly for wildlife and forest conservation.
• Land use land cover change detection, various indices, and producing scientific reports.
• Preparation and submission of final project database and report.
• Presentation and quality map development.
• Advanced geographic analysis using both spatial and attribute information.
• Contribution towards Mission LiFE & Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP).
• Design and create maps based on the needs of various GIS Projects.
• Preparation of monthly report based on the activities.
• Compilation of al GIS and Remote sensing data and project management.
• Knowledge of programming language (Python, RProgramming), ERDAS Imagine, Acr GIS pro dna other conservation related applications.
• Any other official tasks as and when assigned by reporting manager.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters degree from a recognized institute preferably in Environmental Science and knowledge of Remote Sensing & GIS Techniques.
• Good oral and written communication skills and knowledge of Computer applications.
• 0-3 years of working experience in the relevant field.
• Special Expertise in Arc GIS Pro and other ESRI Products, Erdas Imagine, Google Earth Engine, Python, R Programming, other related applications.
