Job Description

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a Programme Lead for Climate Change and Sustainability. This fixed-term role (2 years) involves coordinating and overseeing climate initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality in Stoke-on-Trent. The candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience in the sector, working collaboratively with various stakeholders. The position is full-time, with a salary range of £43,693 - £46,731, and is located in Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom.

This is a fixed term post for 2 years.

An exciting opportunity to co-ordinate, lead, innovate, design, develop, champion and oversee implementation a robust and challenging climate change and sustainability programme and its constituent projects across Stoke-on-Trent as part of the City’s response to climate change and sustainability, with a focus on the city becoming carbon neutral.

The postholder will need comprehensive knowledge of the sector and substantial experience as a team player to work across the Council's Directorates and with external partner organisations in public, private andthird sectors in order to effectively lead and deliver projects focused on climate change and sustainability that involve a wide range of stakeholders, delivering projects and programmes to align businesses, public sector organisations and others working across the City with reduction of their carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions.
