Program Coordinator

Varta Varan is seeking a Program Coordinator to design and implement educational programs focused on climate justice and constitutional values. About Varta Varan by Awaaz Leadership Labs:

Vartan Varan is an initiative by Awaaz Leadership Labs that operates at the critical intersection of law and climate justice advocacy. We are building a community of climate-conscious legal professionals and informed citizens. We develop capacity through innovative educational pedagogies and engaging, participatory experiences. We work with and for law students, youth groups, young legal professionals and common citizens to expand the climate justice landscape in India and ignite hyper-local legal solutions to climate change

Responsibilities

· Design and implement educational programmes that integrate climate justice principles with constitutional values using innovative pedagogical approaches

· Coordinate community engagement activities that build meaningful connections between legal professionals and citizens interested in climate action

· Develop participatory learning experiences that transform complex legal and environmental concepts into accessible knowledge

· Manage programme logistics including scheduling, participant communication, and resource allocation

· Track and evaluate programme effectiveness through qualitative and quantitative metrics

· Organise, facilitate and conduct workshops/activities on climate justice

· Collaborate with legal experts and environmental specialists to ensure programme content accuracy

· Create educational materials that effectively communicate climate justice principles to diverse audiences

· Facilitate discussions and workshops that encourage critical thinking about environmental challenges

· Support the development of a knowledge-sharing platform for programme participants

· Represent Vartan Varan at relevant community events and partner meetings across India

2. Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's degree in law with demonstrated interest in climate justice, constitutional values, and citizen engagement

· 0-3 years of experience in environmental work, legal education, or engagement with law.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language and engaging activities

· Excellent organizational and project management capabilities

· Collaborative mindset with ability to work across disciplines
Preferred

· Experience designing or implementing educational programmes

· Knowledge of innovative teaching methodologies or participatory learning approaches

· Understanding of environmental law fundamentals and/or constitutional frameworks

· Experience with community organizing or public engagement initiatives

· Familiarity with digital tools including canva for collaboration and education

· Comfort in travelling across India (this will be reimbursed separately)

· Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and perspectives

3. Compensation

Minimum INR 30,000 Per month( Negotiable based on experience)
