About the position

The Program Coordinator II position at the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is part of the newly established Climate Action Team within the Research and Climate Bureau. This role focuses on administering federal and state transportation programs related to climate change, including adaptation, resilience, mitigation, and sustainability. The coordinator will work to integrate best practices into departmental procedures and operations while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and program requirements.

Responsibilities
• Thorough review and understanding of federal regulations related to climate change programs.

• Communication of federal regulations to internal and external partners.

• Public presentation of programs and their requirements to stakeholders.

• Support of program committees and coordination of program applications.

• Monitoring projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations and program requirements.

• Tracking projects from development to closeout while ensuring performance measures are achieved.

• Oversight of program budgets and review of billing and expenditures.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

• Five (5) years of program administration or project management experience related to climate change and transportation.

• Valid Driver's License.

• Current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain one.
