The University of Chicago's Institute for Climate & Sustainable Growth is seeking a Senior Instructional Professor (open rank) to manage new undergraduate and master’s programs focused on climate and sustainable growth. Candidates must have a PhD in a related field and at least two years of teaching experience. Responsibilities include course content management, departmental collaboration, and staff supervision. The University of Chicago’s Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth invites applications for Senior Instructional Professor (open rank) to manage the new suite of undergraduate and master’s degree programs based on the Institute’s Chicago Curriculum on Climate and Sustainable Growth. Griffin Department of Economics as the primary department. The selected candidate will be appointed as Assistant Senior Instructional Professor, Associate Senior Instructional Professor, or Senior Instructional Professor, with rank determined by qualifications. The primary responsibility of this position involves the management of a pioneering new suite of undergraduate and master’s degree programs overseen by the Institute’s Chicago Curriculum on Climate and Sustainable Growth. update the content of the courses, having periodic discussions with other departments about their needs; and recruit and supervise professional staff, such as student and career advisors. Completion of a PhD, by the appointment start date, in Economics, Climate Science, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a closely related field
Experience in management of academic programs, personnel, and budgets
At least two years of teaching experience as the instructor of record in a range of undergraduate courses in fields in energy, climate change, public policy, political science, or related fields.
-Experience or academic background in energy and climate change issues.
