As the leader in animal health, Zoetis is looking to recruit a Product Sustainability Lead into its world-class Veterinary Medicine Research and Development organization (VMRD). The candidate will join the Product Sustainability, Quality and Logistics team (PSQL) to develop sustainability strategies during product development in support of R&D activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in Life Cycle Assessments and a broad understanding of the integration of sustainability strategies in the manufacturing of medicines.
Role Description

Responsibilities:
• Develop sustainability strategies during product development to improve product life cycle.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Corporate Sustainability to integrate sustainable strategies into product design.
• Lead internal and external Life Cycle Assessment initiatives and develop platform and technology specific models to guide process changes within R&D.
• Stay current with global sustainability regulations, trends, and best practices, to ensure partnership with functions guiding product design.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and cross-functional problem-solving to ensure seamless integration of operational processes to foster an environment of continuous improvement in product design.
• Work across groups within Zoetis and with external consortia to understand global sustainability regulations, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications

Education requirement: BS in chemistry, biological sciences or engineering with at least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or vaccine product development, MS with 8 years of experience or PhD with more than 5 years of experience and advanced knowledge.

Experience with life cycle assessments and process mass intensity modeling.

Proven knowledge in sustainability-related technologies, green chemistry principles and innovations in product development.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, with a focus on driving measurable improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates with previous experience in a global manufacturing science and technology role supporting pharmaceutical or biological products.

Experience with external collaborations to advance the sustainability of manufacturing medicines.

Demonstrated leadership skills in technical proposals and management.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
