Overview:

The Program Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Program Development Manager (PDM) in designing and advancing Food For The Poor's Sustainable Community Development (SCD) programs across Latin America and the Caribbean. These programs aim to address poverty through an integrated approach, focusing on economic empowerment, social development, and fundamental needs, with a strong emphasis on spiritual growth and personalized coaching for families.

Sustainable Community Development initiatives seek to create long-term impact by equipping vulnerable communities with the tools and resources to improve their quality of life, build resilience, and become self-sufficient in the face of external challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development, planning, and implementation
• Assist the Product Development Manager (PDM) in the development of the sustainable community development projects pipeline in collaboration with Technical Advisors, the MEAL team, implementing partners, and other key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with FFTP's reporting requirements, guiding principles, and standards of quality and reporting.
• Assist the PDM in the co-development of SCD project written proposals that are aligned with FFTP's Strategic Plan and programmatic priorities.
• Participate as an active team member in the design of comprehensive programs, which incorporate innovative strategies to alleviate poverty and foster holistic community development.
• Ensure alignment and integration of key application documents submitted by the implementing partners such as assessment budgets, community profiles, and concept notes, among others.

Collaborating with technical advisors and the MEAL team
• Support the process in the design and implementation of prioritized interventions, identifying technical needs at appropriate stages throughout the SCD project's lifespan.
• Assist the MEAL team and technical advisors in conducting community assessments and data collection to understand the strengths and challenges faced by communities, identifying opportunities to inform program design, evaluation, and best practices learning.
• Follow up on project performance and SCD management response, ensuring compliance with the evaluation recommendations for improving outcomes, addressing challenges, and facilitating learning and accountability opportunities.
• Support the Program Quality & MEAL team in gathering good practices, challenges, and resources for publication, learning sessions, and documentation such as reports, presentations, and executive briefs.

Capacity Building:
• Provide training and technical support to implementing partners and FFTP staff on the sustainable community development approach and methodologies as needed.
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization and implementing partners.

Administrative Support:
• Coordinate the revision and response to questions, comments, and feedback from partners, members, and donors.
• Oversee logistical arrangements for project-related travel, meetings, and events.
• Provide administrative support to ensure efficient project operations, evaluation, and learning.
• Document minutes and actions from meetings with the relevant teams for proposal development and approvals.
• Database management: ensure all proposals' final documents are shared with respective departments and internal tracking systems are up to date.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in international development, Project Management, International relations, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• 3+ years of experience in international development, monitoring and evaluation, project management.
• Non-profit or relief and development sector experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of sustainable development principles and practices, community-led development work and design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and work in challenging environments.
• Solid grant writing and analytical skills.
• Basic financial management knowledge.
