POWERTECH PTY LTD is seeking a full-time Procurement Officer (Electrical) in Murarrie, Australia. The role involves end-to-end procurement activities, supplier negotiation, and maintaining procurement policies. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in procurement within the electrical engineering sector, along with strong analytical and negotiation skills. The position emphasizes collaboration with project teams to ensure compliance and successful project outcomes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer (Electrical) to join our team in the Murarrie Office on a full-time permanent basis.
Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
As the Procurement Officer (Electrical) your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertake end-to-end procurement activities including request for quote, procurement planning and documentation, supplier evaluation and negotiation, and establishing beneficial supplier agreements.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of procurement policies, processes and procedures
• Raise purchase orders within our ERP System
• Establish and maintain systems, tracking and reporting to support project team objectives, proactively raise project risks
• Provide accurate, consistent and timely procurement advice, reporting and support to Project Teams
• Monitor purchase orders to ensure correct pricing & delivery times
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best commercial terms and pricing
• Liaise with Commercial Lead to achieve compliant and favourable purchase terms and conditions
• Liaise with Scheduler/Planner to achieve project delivery milestones
• In conjunction with Project and Engineering Managers, ensure items procured fully meet technical specifications
• Maintaining inventory levels as required and implement stock transfers between projects
• Evaluating best value options when selecting preferred suppliers
• Update & maintain the supplier database
• Liaise with suppliers to build mutually beneficial supply chains
• Analyse and reporting on supplier performance against time and price variance
• Analysing and reporting key Suppliers performance
• Actively develop and maintain procurement processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement and driving the performance of procurement outcomes
• Ensure Procurement governance processes are strictly adhered to
• Proactively communicate across stakeholder groups to achieve successful project outcomes
Skills and Experiences:
Skills:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement role within an electrical engineering and construction business
• Tertiary qualification in procurement (or a business- or law-related discipline) and/or equivalent experience in related procurement activities.
• High-level analytical and reporting skills necessary to analyse data and provide analysis, reports and presentations for decision making.
• Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining effective procurement policies, procedures, systems, and tools in a complex organisation, to improve performance.
• Highly effective negotiation and influencing skills
• High attention to detail
• The ability to work in cross functional teams, vertically and horizontally in the organisation.
• Ability to set objectives, assume responsibility, and work unsupervised to a time frame to achieve objectives.
• Sound knowledge of business principles and procedures – purchasing, cost controls, quality
• Ability to ensure cost effective and reliable delivery performance
• Strong oral & written English language communications skills
