Job Description

Green Value Management Ltd. is hiring a Private Lands Forest Manager in Nova Scotia, Canada. The role involves planning and overseeing harvesting and silviculture activities, managing wood product marketing, and securing public funding. Candidates should have a B.Sc. in Forestry or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years in forestry management. The position requires both field and office work, offering a competitive salary and benefits, but is not remote.
About the Opportunity:

Are you a highly motivated and results-oriented forestry professional? We're searching for a skilled Forest Manager to autonomously plan, execute, and oversee all harvesting and silviculture activities across our extensive land holdings.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic harvesting and silviculture plans.
• Oversee road construction and maintenance.
• Proficiently manage wood product marketing and sales.
• Supervise planting, early competition control, and pre-commercial thinning.
• Secure and manage public funding for projects.
• Conduct thorough stumpage and land valuations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Forestry or equivalent extensive experience in a leadership role within the Nova Scotia and/or New Brunswick forestry industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in roles such as stumpage buyer, woodlands manager, or supervisor of harvesting/silviculture operations.
• Strong network of industry contacts and experience marketing various wood products.
• Proven ability to engage with landowners and manage land acquisition.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and the use of smartphones and drones.
• Valid Nova Scotia driver's license (Class 5 or equivalent) and reliable vehicle suitable for forest roads.
• Current residency in Canada and valid work permit are required.

Working Conditions:

• The role necessitates data collection, analysis, reporting, and the operation of field equipment (GPS, drones, etc.).
