Engeny is seeking a Principal Environmental Approvals Specialist in Perth, WA, with over 10 years of experience. The role involves project management of environmental approvals, compliance, and delivering sustainable outcomes in the resources sector. Candidates should have a relevant degree and familiarity with Western Australian environmental legislation. Engeny is currently seeking a Principal Environmental Approvals Specialist with 10+ years of experience working in Western Australia to be a part of our passionate and entrepreneurial team. This is a unique role that offers early-career exposure to business an exciting project opportunity in the resources sector centered around our energy transition. You will also secure outstanding development and leadership, working collaboratively with the wider Environmental Discipline to grow the Environmental Management and Approvals Discipline in Western Australia.
About The Role
• Project manage the environmental management and approvals package for Engeny on the project.
• Coordinate environmental approvals and compliance deliverables on the project for the client.
• Use a risk-based framework and operational experience to drive improved, practical and sustainable outcomes for the client.
• Manage and drive quality project outcomes for our client that are on budget and aligned with schedule.
• Support the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members on the project.
• Participate in client management and business development and wider strategy.
• Play an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training, and business
About You
• You are looking to be a part of and contribute to a high performing culture on an exciting project opportunity for our WA office.
• A tertiary engineering or science degree (essential) with 10 + years relevant experience, in Western Australia, in a similar role within industry, consulting or government.
• A high level of knowledge and understanding of Western Australian and Federal environmental legislation, including a high degree of familiarity with the Mining Act 1978 and Environmental Protection Act 1986.
• Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence.
• Prominent level of technical skills and experience in report writing technical review, project management, and the management of junior specialists.
• Site operational experience desirable.
• Preparation of Mining Proposals, Mine Closure Plans, Part IV & V approvals, and Commonwealth approvals experience essential
