Job Description

Electronic Arts is hiring a Principal Environment Artist in Vancouver, BC. The role involves creating high-quality world art content, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance visual quality, mentoring the environment team, and developing construction tools. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in the gaming industry, including 4+ years in a principal role. The position is full-time and emphasizes a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Job Title: Principal Environment Artist

Create world art content, including architecture, terrain, flora, geology, and materials that set the benchmark visual quality for studio products.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to push the boundaries of our world's visual quality by introducing innovative tools, techniques, and workflows that enhance immersion and emotional impact.
• Partner with Senior Environment Director and environment team in establishing and upholding the vision and quality standards for our game worlds, ensuring consistent environment assets and player experience with broader project creative goals.
• Work with technical stakeholders in developing world construction tools and pipelines, ensuring efficient and high-quality output.
• Balance environment content between gameplay, aesthetics, and technical requirements within an open world construct.
• Mentor and elevate the skills of the environment team through best practices.
• Identify and maintain engine technology requirements and performance metrics needed to meet product goals in collaboration with Technical Art and Engineering Teams.
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years' experience in the games industry. 4+ years as a Principal environment artist or equivalent.
