Job Description

Phillip Riley is seeking a Principal - Private Equity (Co-Investments) in Sydney, focusing on the energy sector. The role involves executing client transactions, developing investment strategies, and conducting due diligence. Candidates should have 8-10 years of relevant experience in PE consulting or direct buy-side roles, particularly in infrastructure and renewables. The position offers a chance to impact the energy transition within a fast-growing team.
Our client, a leading global Consultancy practice are now actively involved as Co-investors alongside several leading PE firms focusing on the energy sector, working with clients and internal teams, on growth strategy, business model reinvention and portfolio optimization.

Led by a number of highly regarded executives with impressive track records in Advisory across the broad Infrastructure and Renewables sectors, they are looking to add a Principal (VP/AD equivalent level) to the team based in Sydney (Melbourne also an option).

About the role

This role will support the execution of both client and in-house transactions and will contribute to devising and refining an investment strategy for Australia/NZ together with the Partners and MD's.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities in this role will include:
• Complete detailed due diligence and financial modelling on selected projects;
• Develop recommendations around the optimal disposal of assets;
• Develop and execute a regional investment strategy from origination to exit;
• Establish and manage relationships to gain access to potential transactions;

About you

Our client is looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment where change is inevitable. Ideally, you will have:
• 8-10 years of PE Consulting and/or Direct Buy side experience in the ANZ Infrastructure / Energy / renewables related markets;
• Significant experience in origination and transaction execution of energy infrastructure assets;
• Highly developed Financial modelling skills
• Strong commercial acumen coupled with analytical skills;
• Strong project execution and operations management skills;
• Strategic thinking skills.
