Role Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Power Trading Analyst to join our Energy team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the energy transition by conducting research on power markets, particularly in India, Japan, and the USA.

You will have the chance to develop and implement strategies aimed at maximizing the value of energy assets.
Key Tasks & Accountability
• Develop Trading Strategies: Design and implement innovative trading strategies aimed at maximizing the value of customer assets and enhancing the overall portfolio performance.
• Data Analysis & Modeling: Develop, analyze, and optimize models and processes to increase the flexibility and efficiency of distributed energy assets.
• Market Analysis: Perform comprehensive analyses of power markets, including wholesale, ancillary, and capacity segments especially for the power markets in India, Japan & USA.
• Best Practices Implementation: Identify and adopt advanced tools and processes to improve the efficiency and performance of trading operations.
• Collaborative Recommendations: Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop customer-focused value propositions and global platform solutions.
• Market Monitoring: Monitor real-time and historical market data to evaluate and respond to energy trading market conditions.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen knowledge of market tools and trading methodologies.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure all research and analytical activities adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience in renewable energy trading in power exchanges (e.g. IEX).
• Clear knowledge on the Real-time dispatch management in the renewable energy Plants.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, entitlements, grid codes, and PPAs related to renewable energy.
• Familiarity with communication protocols and coordination processes with DISCOMs and SLDCs.
• Solid understanding of global renewable power markets (wholesale, ancillary, and capacity).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle real-time operational challenges.
Education
• A bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
• Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Energy Management or Sustainable Development can be an advantage.
• Certifications like the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) are highly beneficial and often preferred by employers.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis software and computer modeling programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
