As a Power Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of our power plants, contributing to the overall success of our city's energy goals. Operate and maintain power plant equipment and machinery in accordance with established safety protocols and procedures.
Monitor and control power plant operations, including start-up, shut-down, and load changes.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on power plant equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions that may arise during power plant operations.
Record and maintain accurate logs of power plant operations, including readings, maintenance activities, and any incidents or abnormalities.
Collaborate with other team members to optimize power plant performance and efficiency.
Utilize computer systems and software to monitor and control power plant operations.
Respond to emergencies and power outages, taking appropriate actions to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in renewable energy technologies.
Adhere to all environmental regulations and standards, ensuring the power plant operates in an environmentally responsible manner.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the power plant control room, equipment, and surrounding areas.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to coordinate work and ensure efficient power plant operations.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Train and mentor new power plant operators as needed.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve power plant operations and make recommendations for process improvements.
