At SLB Cambridge Research (SCR), we strike a balance between academia and industry with projects from early-stage research all the way to solution development for real business challenges.

Job Summary:
To accelerate SLB’s growth in the Energy Transition technology space, we are seeking a driven and creative post-doctoral scientist to join our Carbon Capture research programme. The vision of this program is to play a leading role in driving innovation for our company by addressing challenges lying in the carbon capture space.
Passion for science, teamwork and the desire to succeed are the core of our programme. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the testing and scaling up of various sorbents for carbon capture.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Characterise sorbents for carbon capture: performance, microstructure,
• Design and develop dynamic gas rigs and carry out tests on novel sorbents for carbon capture.
• Develop manufacturing capabilities for novel sorbents at lab scale.
• Develop novel research and IP; write patents applications, publish in scientific journals, and attend conferences.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
• PhD in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering
• Experience on characterisation of sorbents / membrane materials
• Hands-on experience in building, modifying, and operating dynamic gas/liquid rigs – acquired during PhD.
• Experience in DAQ, control, and automation for gas/liquid dynamic systems; exposure to LabVIEW.
• Experience in process instrumentation – pressure, temperature, flow, etc.
• Experience in data analysis.
Nice to have:
• Exposure to high pressure systems.
• Exposure to sorption / permeation / reaction engineering.
• Exposure to carbon capture processes.
• Exposure to Symmetry / Aspen / gPROMS for process modelling.
