Job Description
The Postdoctoral Fellow in Sustainability Assessments at MIT will collaborate with researchers and industry to address climate change and sustainability challenges. Responsibilities include developing sustainability assessment methods and conducting research on carbon, water, and biodiversity. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and experience in life cycle assessment and GHG accounting. This position is full-time and located in Cambridge, MA.
About the position
The Postdoctoral Fellow in Sustainability Assessments at MIT's Climate & Sustainability Consortium (MCSC) will collaborate with researchers, industry members, and external organizations to develop innovative solutions for global climate change and sustainability challenges. This role aims to prepare individuals for leadership positions in sustainability by advancing research and creating scalable solutions. The fellow will focus on developing next-generation sustainability assessment methods, including carbon, water, and biodiversity accounting, as well as GHG target setting and decarbonization pathways.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with MIT researchers and industry members to implement sustainability solutions.

Requirements
• Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline or interdisciplinary climate/sustainability program.

• Familiarity with life cycle assessment, corporate greenhouse gas accounting, water footprinting, biodiversity metrics, or science-based GHG emissions targets.

• Experience in developing and deploying interactive software tools.

• Experience with proposal writing and group management.

• Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with diverse experts.
