ResearQ is hiring a full-time Postdoctoral Associate in Marine Biology & Ecology at the University of Miami. The role involves supporting reef restoration projects through field and lab work, data analysis, proposal writing, and supervising students. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a related field, AAUS Dive certification, and experience with coral ecology. The position requires physical fieldwork and is only available to US citizens or residents.

To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review thistip sheet.Postdoctoral Associate - Reef RestorationThe Marine Biology & Ecology Department at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science at the University of Miami has an exciting full time position for a Post Doctoral Associate. The associate will provide scientific support for all reef restoration projects at the Lirman Lab.The position consists of both field and lab activities, data collection and analyses, proposal submission, fundraising, report and paper preparation and submission, student supervision (graduate and undergraduate students), citizen science, and communityengagement. Thisposition is only available to US citizens or residents.The candidate's duties will include, but are not limited to the following:Help design an execute lab and field coral restoration activitiesContribute to field coral nursery and out planting activitiesConduct lab coral fragmentation and tank maintenanceAnalyze dataDrive UM boatsSupport Rescue a Reef Public Expeditions and EventsPrepare and present data reportsWrite scientific papersWrite proposalsTrain and supervise interns and volunteersConduct physically demanding field work (lift ~50 lbs, good swimming skills)Work in cold/hot climate marine environmentsRequired education and skills:Doctoral degree in Coral Reef Ecology or related fieldCurrent AAUS Dive certificationExperience handling boats (19-27 ft) (MOCC certification or similar required)Coral and Fish identification killsCoral HusbandryStrong analytical skillsStrong writing skillsWork independently and as part of a groupA track record of high-quality publications and the potential to contribute toward new researchPlease submit a cover letter addressing how your expertise meets the position requirements listed above, describing previous experience.
