Job Description
The Portfolio Management Associate position at Clean Energy Finance Corporation is based in Brisbane, Australia. The role involves managing counterparty obligations, conducting investment and portfolio analysis, and collaborating with various teams to support sustainability and financial goals. Candidates should have experience in bank loans, project finance, and financial analysis. This position aims to contribute to Australia's climate goals by managing investments in renewable energy and related sectors.

Focussing on ongoing investment and asset management, insights analysis, reporting and managing internal and external stakeholders, you’ll gain exposure across CEFC’s portfolio, including potential development opportunities in the renewables, residential and/or transport sectors.
The role you’ll play
As a Portfolio Management Associate, you’ll be responsible for:
• Managing and monitoring the ongoing satisfaction of counterparty obligations against covenants and/or performance targets and addressing and managing non-compliance or key issues with counterparties
• Managing and negotiating regular and ad-hoc counterparty requests, including approval processes
• Liaising with Finance, Legal and Investment teams on payment, drawdown profile, legal and scenario stress testing to maintain a high degree of control over transactions on an ongoing basis
• Investment and/or portfolio analysis to support detailed reviews and reporting, with a focus on asset performance, valuation, risk and return, and sustainability outcomes.
• Working with Sustainability, Investment teams and counterparties to drive knowledge sharing and influencing decarbonisation outcomes.
• Monitoring and managing ESG and sustainability related obligations and reporting, including measuring carbon outcomes for projects
• Working closely with the stakeholders on the strategic direction for each transaction, completing and presenting Asset Management Plans to the Asset Management Committee
• Managing the handover of investment transactions from the Investment teams ahead of financial close to ensure a high degree of knowledge transfer exists
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• An understanding of bank loan and fixed income transactions, project finance, or credit risk management
• Experience effectively and succinctly communicating complex transaction details and undertaking financial and risk analysis reporting to senior management
• Experience analysing financial statements and interpreting and using financial models relative to project milestones, financial covenants, drawdowns and capital structure
• Experience across any of these types of financing and investment structures including project finance (including construction risk, and management of construction milestones), corporate finance, property financing, securitisation, bond, equity and fund investments would be advantageous
