Job Description

Greenskies Renewable Energy LLC is hiring a Policy Analyst in North Haven, CT, to analyze regulatory trends in the solar and storage industry. The role involves tracking legislation, advocating for beneficial policies, and collaborating with internal teams. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy policy. Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office are required. The position offers a salary range of $43.2K–$72K annually.
Greenskies Clean Energy is seeking a renewable energy Policy Analyst for its Policy and New Market Development team to monitor and analyze regulatory trends in the solar and storage industry. This position will work closely with the Vice President of Policy and New Markets and the Business Development Team at Greenskies to drive development of solar and storage in new markets.

The ideal candidate excels at understanding complex and esoteric issues and documents and researching legislation and regulatory proceedings to anticipate and gain a deep understanding of future and existing law and policy related to renewable energy development. The candidate will be a quick learner with strong communication skills and a firm understanding of the C&I solar and storage marketplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Track legislative, regulatory and incentive program activity related to renewable energy in select states
• Review new statutes and regulations, provide summaries and assist internal teams to craft business strategies that reflect exploit these policies
• Advocate for policies beneficial to solar energy and Greenskies business strategy
• Engage with industry associations and other organizations on priorities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 2-5 years experience in a relevant area: Renewable energy, preferably with some focus on public policy; or a state utility commission, legislative committee, energy office or other relevant position; or Environmental policy advocacy or lobbying
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel
• Ability to read and understand complex energy regulations and to summarize the key parts that affect opportunities and risks for development
• Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills required
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships with minimal supervision
