Job Description
The Policy & Programmes Officer role at Imperial College involves using climate and energy research to influence national and international policy. The position requires collaboration with academic staff to maximize policy impact, producing outputs for government audiences. About the role
Working within the Imperial Policy Forum, you will play an important role in using the world-leading climate and energy research from Imperial to engage with and influence policy, at a national and international level.
You will work closely with the new School of Convergence Science: Sustainability and Imperial’s wider climate and energy academic community to create policy impact in this crucial area of public policy.
What you would be doing
You will work with both academic and professional services staff to maximise the policy impact and influence of Imperial’s research. You will produce engaging and insightful outputs based on this research, targeted towards government and parliamentary audiences. You will be the lead within the Imperial Policy Forum team on climate and energy policy and play an important role in briefing senior members of the Strategic Engagement Division of the policy environment and potential opportunities for the university.
What we are looking for
You will be passionate about the positive impact that research can have on policy, and bring experience and insight about UK climate and energy policy. You will be an engaging and creative communicator, with a existing network of contacts in Westminster and Whitehall.
