Job Description
The Canadian Armed Forces is seeking Plumbing and Heating Technicians to provide engineering support globally. Responsibilities include installation and maintenance of plumbing, heating, fire suppression, and fuel systems. The role involves working in various environments, with potential relocations for regular force members. No prior experience is needed, and the minimum education requirement is Grade 10. Positions are available in both full-time and part-time capacities.

As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, plumbing and heating technicians provide essential engineering support to operational units worldwide.
The plumbing and heating technician role is one of seven construction engineering positions that ensure the delivery of all construction, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering services in support of CAF operations. Key responsibilities include:
• Installation and maintenance of interior plumbing systems
• Installation and maintenance of interior water supply systems
• Installation and maintenance of heating systems
• Installation and maintenance of fire suppression systems
• Installation and maintenance of gaseous fuel systems
• Installation and maintenance of oil burning equipment
• Production of related designs and specifications
• Production of related drawings
• Installation and maintenance of field ablution facilities
Work Environment:
Plumbing and heating technicians work in diverse environments, adapting to various conditions while maintaining their skills both at home units and on humanitarian assignments.
For those joining the Regular Force, upon completion of required training, you will be assigned to your first base. While postings may offer some flexibility, relocations are possible, and accommodations may not always be available. In contrast, the Primary Reserve Force allows for part-time work through a specific unit, with no obligation to relocate. As a reservist, you will typically work one night per week and some weekends as a minimum, with possibilities of full-time employment.
Requirements:
No prior work experience or career-related skills are necessary. CAF recruiters can help determine if your interests and attributes align with the occupation's criteria.
The minimum education requirement is completion of provincial Grade 10 or Secondary 4 requirements in Quebec, including Grade 10 applied math or math 416/CST 4 in Quebec.
